Tom Jenkins is a successful entrepreneur and an innovative engineer.
Tom co-founded Energy Strategies Corporation (ESCOR) in 1984. ESCOR is widely recognized for successfully introducing many original techniques to the wastewater industry. These include floating control algorithms for DO control in lieu of PID, replacing pressure control of blowers with direct flow control, innovative flow based MOV, and variable speed control of single stage and multistage centrifugal aeration blowers. Tom was the Chief Design Engineer at Dresser Roots Wastewater Solutions Group (now part of Howden Roots LLC).
As the President of JenTech Inc. Tom provides consulting services to the wastewater treatment industry. This includes design and analysis of control systems, aeration systems, energy conservation measures, and blower systems. His expertise in aeration and controls covers a variety of process control solutions. This includes dissolved oxygen (DO) control, Most-Open-Valve (MOV) systems, and blower control.
Tom is an Adjunct Professor (Professor of Practice) at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He provides guest lectures and student mentoring for the College of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is Chairman of the ASME committee for PTC 13, “Wire-To-Air Performance Test Code for Blower Systems.” He is a Fellow of the Water Environment Federation.
In addition to his technical background, Tom has extensive experience with sales and marketing in the wastewater treatment industry.
